i just genuinely don’t get it

WHO is sitting at the CW network office, going, “you know who should have more shows? julie plec.”

like i refuse to believe that is happening because if it was, a thousand coworkers would look at this person and go “are you out of your GODDAMN MIND she has literally been doing SO BAD with vampire diaries what is wrong with you?!?”

HEY HEY GUYS

GUYS

IT’S OK

JULIE PLEC IS UNDER MY SIREBOND

SHE HAS TO WRITE BAMON, SHE LITERALLY HAS NO CHOICE NOW

NO WORRIES I GOT THIS

so from what i can tell of the new episode there are literally two conclusions i can draw

either they are:

a) setting up the bonnie/damon relationship to grow beyond hating each other and this is their way of setting up statements that will be pointedly contradicted

b) julie plec is seriously the most malicious showrunner i have ever seen

there are the two options, people. because there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for the show to rub it in our faces so much that bonnie and damon don’t get along unless one of these two options is happening. they are REPEATEDLY throwing these scenes and statements into episodes, this isn’t like an isolated incident. they keep on drilling bonnie and damon’s antagonistic relationship into our heads. why? because they’re either building to something, or julie plec is THAT against bonnie/damon.

i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being option b. but if that’s the case, then jesus christ. i will never understand julie plec.

in other news, kat graham is queen, and bonnie bennett will always be better than your favs. ,

Julie Plec’s latest tweet urging us to stop the wars

-facepalm-

Ok, well, her tweet was nicely articulated and has great sentiment. I appreciate her message, and I do agree that people need to stop making everything negative. People are compelled to tear down other people’s opinions so their own stands out, and that’s just shitty. Cut it out, people.

However.

Julie points out her own hypocrisy. She called someone an asshole on the internet. Not only does that do absolutely nothing, but good lord, Julie, you are a grown women running a popular TV show that kids and teens and people of various ages are seeing. You could be a role model to some people. I know that, in a way, I want to be you someday- I would LOVE to be the main writer for a TV show, that would be so amazing. If I was younger, I would have idolized you and taken your tweets to heart, and learned by example. “Oh, if Julie Plec gets to reply to everyone’s tweets and call them assholes, then I can too!”

And it’s not just that. You can just TELL that Julie has a disrespect for certain fans’ opinions. Klonnie, being a prime example. She’s tweeted about how, essentially, it doesn’t make any sense and Bonnie deserves better (don’t even get me started on her phrasing on THAT). You can’t do that, Julie. If there’s one thing I’ve learned by being a part of fandoms, it’s that everyone’s opinion matters in some way. Especially when it comes to shipping. Shipping comes from various places inside of a person, that’s why it’s so personal. It comes from how we view love, how we want to be loved, how we have experienced love, what inspires us, what we’re intrigued by, etc. etc.. For me, I pick ships based on what inspires me and what relationships I would love to see explored, because I’m a writer and I like doing some of the exploring myself. That’s personal for me. So you CANNOT belittle something like that. And Julie, even though your hits at Bamon have been, er, somewhat subtle, I know you have disdain for it. I shouldn’t be able to sense that!

(Note: I’m actually impressed she mentioned Bamon in her tweet, as the third ship listed, no less. Points to you for that, Julie.)

I know it was a joke, but Julie undermined her whole tweet by adding that thing about Eleneremy. Some people could legitimately support that, and that’s ok! If you’ve heard of Supernatural, one of the most popular ships is an incestuous one. And, it may creep some people out, but it is someone’s OPINION and if people want to express their opinion, then yes, that’s awesome and fine. You CANNOT show disdain for one pairing and then preach to show respect for all. That is hypocrisy at its finest.

One last thing- I don’t know about you guys, but I know fandoms. I know shows. I know how fans react to certain things, the patterns of behavior we follow. Julie, if you thought for ONE SECOND that a show about a LOVE TRIANGLE wasn’t going to turn ugly in terms of ship wars, then I don’t get it. Because that is absolutely a recipe for drama in a fandom, right from the get-go. Accept it. It happens. You basically made it happen. You’re writing this stuff. If anything, there are ways you can write the show to make the ship wars diminish, but, that doesn’t make for good TV. Gotta make it dramatic. It’s ok. Ship wars suck and people suck, but ship wars are a natural part of fandoms nowadays. Maybe they won’t be someday. But for now, you just gotta deal with them. It’s annoying as hell, ohhhh yeah, but I deal with them by sticking to my Bamon and Bonnie Bennett Brigade corner of the internet, where the people are perfect and the sassiness is the best.

Wow ok, I rambled forever. Just had to get that off my chest, I guess.

According to Julie Plec, Damon’s journey is about learning that love shouldn’t ‘overconsume’ him. He needs to find BALANCE. We will watch him struggle with the belief that love should “consume” you, and at some point he’ll realize he’s wrong. That’s not what he wants, that’s not what Elena wants, because he needs to take CONTROL over his emotional life. Otherwise it’s unHEALTHy.

Elena Gilbert: When I’m with him, it just consumes me.

So the whole show is leading to the point where he’ll finally realize he’s wrong.
Ooops?

Wow Julie Plec said something that actually makes sense.

What she said sounds logical…I’m shocked.

-coughcough- so being in a relationship with bonnie would allow him that balance just saying -coughcough-

so i’m hearing that there’s a ball episode of TVD and bonnie’s not going to the ball

dude. seriously. this is so beyond unacceptable i’m not even gonna go into it

the only way this would be ok is if this is like cinderella and caroline is her fairy/vampire godmother and stefan is the guy who drives the magic carriage and they take her to the ball and she wears a beautiful dress and gets to dance with all the guys and damon asks why the hell she doesn’t get to come to more dances because look at how gorgeous she is.

p.s. the answer is because julie plec is the evil stepmother.

p.s.s. bonnie and damon need another dance together like my life depended on it
